AWARD-WINNING CURRICULUM

Be A Hero! Prevent Fires

This curriculum guide was created by the Omaha World-Herald staff and other contributors from our community and is being honored with the Mayor's Trophy - presented by the National Safety Council - Greater Omaha Chapter. It is one of six awards for the promotion of safety in the Omaha metro area. We're very proud of this honor and we hope students throughout Nebraska and western Iowa can utilize the information to gain valuable safety information.

Over 4,000 students participated in this program during the fall of 2004. We thank the Nebraska Department of Education, OPPD, Control Services and Barone Security Systems for their support of this valuable program.

The guide will be offered once again this fall and will contain a few added features including one on fire sprinklers and their importance in the prevention of fire losses.
